I stopped by the new house last night to pick up the mail that had been delivered there-the insurance paperwork to be exact. The current owners have completely moved out, but are doing the cleaning work.
They asked me if we wanted to keep the carpet remnants that were in each of the 2nd floor bedrooms. I was thrilled to accept! Even though they are a little not exactly what we might wish, they will keep Princess & Buddy’s feet warm (hardwood bedroom floors in NY in winter are NOT warm!) and give me time to wait for the perfect rugs to present themselves to me at a frugal cost. . . .
As usual, the most frugal thing to buy is nothing.
Oh, and we found out from the lawyers office* that the closing will be on Tuesday-at 9am. Apparently the lawyers really didn’t want to all meet that early, but the next soonest appointment they all had available at the same time was a week after that!
*In NY it is required to have a lawyer for closing-I understand that is different in some other states.

Cool you could always color cordinate the sheets if that makes you feel better. Other things I have heard of is you could use Rit dye to change the colors of the rugs. That is great. That will save you money!! Annette

Annette-We’ll just sort of ignore what color they are right now-although I think I’ll move the blue one out of Buddy’s room, I’m painting that blue and I think that i will be a clashing shade. I’ll replace them all later when we have the funds and find the right ones!!
