Busy Busy Busy-

October 18, 2007 By Jenn @ Frugal Upstate 5 Comments

Obviously too busy to blog!

I’ve been spending my days stripping wallpaper, scrubbing walls, scraping paint (Who takes a door with a glass window in it and wallpapers one side and paints the other on the glass?? Who I ask?) and such. Today I spent the entire day-from 9:15 am to 5:00 pm (minus two 20 minute periods) taping off woodwork with that blue painters tape. Literally all day!

I felt fine, until I got into the car to go pick up Princess (after school care ends at 5). After I had been sitting for a minute or two my feet started burning. That’s when I realized I hadn’t actually sat down all day-not even when I gulped some lunch.

So it is time to sit with my feet up for a few minutes and write and read blogs 🙂

What does this have to do with frugality. Nothing.

It has EVERYTHING to do with frugality.

You could have paid someone to do it for you!

Be sure to take a nice bubblebath and soak your feet. Good luck. Annette

Oh Jen, I beg to differ. Your Frugality has afforded you the opportunity to purchase your dream house. Then youa re doing the work yourself. That’s frugal.

Keep it up. These are inspirational!

    Thanks guys!

In the interest of honesty, I would like to point out that we did hire a painter to do all the ceilings and crown molding-and that will cost us almost $1000. But to us, that is worthwhile because 1) it saves our backs and necks (and my neck is why I left military service) 2)he is doing it WAY quicker than we would have been able to 3)his doing it will enable us to have all the work done in pretty much 2 weeks. Although we could wait longer, we WOULD like to move in now that we own it.

More on the things we are paying for and the things we are doing ourselves later. . ..

Jenn- be sure to take lots of before and after pictures so we can see your amazing results.

I think you are doing a great job and I can’t wait to see all that you have gotten done over there. Be careful not to overdo it and treat yourself to a foot soak or something special just for you!!

We are cranking out the house projects over here too and you are inspiring me!!
