I was reading through my feeds this morning, with an article completely planned out when-WHAM-I came across it. A mention of the Dog Days of Summer Bloggy Giveaway on The Homespun Heart.

Free Stuff! I LOVE Free Stuff! What fun!
There went my carefully crafted plans for today’s post (Christmas in July anyone?), because this week Shannon over at Rocks in My Dryer is organizing a blogosphere wide giveaway week. She is compiling a master list of all the various give aways on her site. On her site you can find an explanation of the giveaway and a list of guidelines.
So of course, I had to get in on it. Here are my offerings, and how they relate to frugality:
A set of cute note cards I picked up at the dollar store on Friday that say “Cheep-Skate” on them. Ha-ha-ha! If the picture was open source, I’d make that my logo, it’s just too cute.
A copy of “Living more with Less” by Doris Janzen Longacre. This is a Mennonite book a, companion to the “More with Less” cookbook if you’ve ever looked at that (another interesting read). Although published in 1980, it still has lots of information that is relevant to frugality. I picked this up at a yard sale for about $.50.
A brand new (still stiff, tags on it) small felt tote from Victoria Secret. I also thrifted this item several years ago. According to the tags, it was originally the container for a gift set. (Taken from my gift box)
A brand new pair of Old Navy women’s socks with little snowmen on them. (Given to me for free-taken from my gift box)
And last but not least, two metal star burst votive candle holders that I bought at a deep discount (pennies really) in a post Christmas sale several years back. (Taken from my gift box)
For a chance to win all this lovely free goodness, all you have to do is post a “Reader’s Question”* for me in the comments section of this post. On Friday, July 27th at 8am I will draw a winner from those comments. Then I will post the winner and answer the readers question (well, if it takes a lot of research the question may have to be answered on Monday). The rest of the readers questions will be addressed over time.
Don’t forget to head on over to Rocks in My Dryer to check out all the other wonderful giveaways. There are sure to be hundreds, her blog is popular. Good Luck!!!!
*A “Reader’s Question” should be something related to frugality or this blog. “Why is the sky blue” really wouldn’t count 🙂 “Where can I find washing soda?” for example or “How can I save money on a little girls birthday party?”. –I’ve already answered both of those questions on this blog previously BTW, so no fair reusing them!

Ok, here’s my question: I find it’s hard to work full time AND be frugal. I just don’t have time to make my own bread, make every meal from scratch, hang every load of laundry on the line, etc. Shortcuts are more expensive, but save me a ton of time. How do I do it?
I need ideas for a frugal wedding. Any ideas?
I’d love to win. Please count me in!
I’d love to be entered. Any ideas for an upstairs that has been emptied. I do not know what to do with it. Farley80@sbcglobal.net

Okay, here is my question. With back to school coming up fast, and both my kids having major (almost 2 inches each!) growth spurts this summer, how can I outfit them in nice, clean hole free clothes for the least amount of money?
Thanks!
What a lovely giveaway 🙂
Okay, my question is: How do you buy healthy, fresh foods on a small budget? It seems that, the healthier the food is, the more it costs! 🙂

I have 7 kids and would love to be able to have lots of pictures of them, and we do take tons of pics, but I rarely develope them. How can I frugally develope and scrap for my kids?

Please include me! Thank you!
I love the frugal gifts! Love it. Pick me!
A question? Hmmm. First, I have to say that your gift items look like fun! I have recipes from the More with Less Cookbook that I’ve enjoyed for years. I would be interested to read that book you are giving away.
Ah! I have a question for you now! It relates to thrift shopping. I just hate digging through people’s old stuff in order to find that one thing that’s awesome and “like new”. Do you have some suggestions for me? Any thrifting tips?
My Question: Presents!
My husband’s family is a notorious gift giving family, for every birthday and holiday they buy EVERYONE in the family gifts of about a $50 value (and usually off of gift lists that everyone makes up for themselves). How do we either buy more frugal gifts that our family members will still appreciate or remove ourselves from the gift giving tradition????
this is so up my alley!!! I’ve been really looking for ideas for becoming more frugal (we are expecting #4 soon)
Blessings,
Karla
(Contest #119)
oops, I forgot my question!!!
Question: where is a good place to start in becoming a frugal family??
OK, this is a question I have asked a lot of people and have yet to get any kind of answer. When do you think in the best day to hit the thift and goodwill stores? Is there a specific day of the week that has better stuff?
Oh, please enter me!
Question:
My 15 month old daughter loves paints, etc. Where would be a good place to purchase non-toxic paints for her at an affordable price? where is a good place to purchase affordable art supplies as well?
Thank you!
I have always been a frugal girl. What a great idea for a blog! What do you think the line is between being frugal and being cheap?
