Sorry this is a bit late! I prefer to get my Festival of Frugality review done on Tuesday during the day, but sometimes you get OBE as the Army says (Overcome By Events).
This weeks Festival was back at it’s birthplace on “Blueprint for Financial Prosperity”. There were 20 entries (again, nothing from me this week-I have been forgetting to enter an article! No more, I’ll enter one for next week TODAY!). These are a couple that really grabbed me this week:
The Home Insurance Guide has an article on how to save money on homeowners insurance. This site is obviously geared to insurance– I think it is cool when non personal finance or frugality bloggers take the time to enter into our festival!
Summer vacation season is here, and Tired But Happy has some great tips on how to save money on camping gear. As I mentioned in her comments-we wuss out and camp in a camper. But hey, after 11 years in the Army, for me sleeping in a tent is WORK, not fun 🙂
Since swimsuit season is right around the corner (or already here if you live south of upstate!) Refridgerator Raid’s tips on getting fit on a frugal budget are worth a good looking over.
Jonesing for a Starbucks Frappachino, but it’s not on the budget? LAMoneyGuy has some links and tips on how to make your own. Make sure to check out the comments, where some smart readers have demystified some of the ingredients required.
Lisa at Family of Five talks about how “second hand doesn’t mean second best”. I know this tip is old hat to some of you, but sometimes it is good to be reminded. I am a big advocate of second hand clothing, especially for the kids. Much of my own personal wardrobe is second hand. I always figured, if it still looks good by the time I buy it, it will probably continue to look good!

Sweet! I’m going to check it out now. Thanks!
