I have gotten a bit out of the habit of posting the Festival of Frugality roundup. With fall in the air, school starting, and a general feeling of change-well, I make a pledge to get back in the saddle and keep you all up to date!
This week’s Festival of Frugality is hosted by Stephanie at “Stop the Ride”. I’m sure a lot of you are already readers of Stephanie’s two blogs-the other being “Adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood“. She is also the founder of the blog carnival “Make it from Scratch“, which I do intend to enter one of these days! Then again, I don’t seem to remember to enter the Festival of Frugality either.
This weeks festival had a whopping 60 entries. Stephanie has them arranged in topical areas (Financial Savvy, Frugal Gift Giving etc) As always, I am just picking a few to highlight that have really jumped out at me.
“11 Things Buffy Taught Me About Frugality and Simplicity”. Now, with a name like that don’t you just HAVE to click through and see what the heck Living Behind the Curve is talking about? Personally (although it no longer applies to my life) I like #6. Don’t date people more complicated than you are. 🙂
“Stop Going Crazy with Birthday Parties for Kids” I couldn’t agree more with this post over at Money, Matter, and More Musings. This is a bit of a pet peeve of mine, and throwing fun but inexpensive kids parties is one of my “subversive” acts in my neighborhood. . .
The Financial Blogger states that buying canned baby food is healthier and cheaper than making your own. I don’t agree with that at all!
And last but not least, a tutorial for making a rag rug over at Bean Sprouts. That’s on my list of “projects to do someday” which I will probably never get to.
Of course that is just a few that caught my eye-pop on over to the full Festival of Frugality post to read them all!

Good information thanks. The one about the baby food is great because, too many presservatives can cause cancer and problems. They do make organic baby food too. Thanks, Annette It is cheaper to make your own fresh nad healthier too.
Annette-I deleted the double, just to keep things clean. . .
