On Monday June 7th we will start the “Frugal Food” Series. Let’s all help each other stretch our food dollars this summer by coming up with an exhaustive list of family tested and approved recipes using inexpensive ingredients.
Playing along is easy! Each week I’ll introduce a food that gives you a lot of bang for your frugal buck-this first week will be Eggs. I’ll extol it’s many virtues and give a few of the Frugal Upstate family’s favorite uses.
If you want to participate simply post your own frugal recipe, link back to the main article and enter YOUR article into the Mr. Linky I’ll provide. Have an article somewhere back in your archives that fits the bill? Either republish it, or just go back and edit it to include the link and you are good to go! Don’t have a blog but have a great recipe to share? Email it in to me!
I hope that this will provide us all with an inspiring and informative resource. I look forward to seeing all of your posts and slashing my own food bill.

I love this idea!! I have 4 young kids and always need ideas for inexpencive healthy food items to serve them. I hope it works out well and thanks for all the ideas in advance. ~Bean
Great! I can’t wait!
i can’t wait for this!
🙂
If you don’t mind I’ll spread the word on my blog. I am looking forward to this.
My kids like the dry cereal Cheerios and it is actually healthy for a snack. You can do a lot with dollar store pasta, sauces, baked beans and with inexpensive bulk lean beef from Costco ect.. They are now carrying more namebrand products at some dollar stores such as soups ect… It is great. Kids love some veggies with dollar store ranch dressing and more. The list goes on and on. They have juices and healthy juice pops and fruits ect.. Good luck everyone. Gas is now $5.00 a gallon here and it may be $10.00 before the end of the year. ugh
I am super excited for this!
