Frugal Upstate Interviewed on Blog Talk Radio

While I was at Blog World Expo 2008, I was interviewed by Blog Talk Radio! Head on over to hear me on “Jennifer and Blog World Expo Talk Radio Show” and listen to the 11 minute interview.

Be forewarned-I’m speaking fast ๐Ÿ™‚ My natural speaking cadence is pretty fast to begin with-I’m a North Easterner with French/Italian blood. And when I get excited about a topic I tend to increase in speed, sort of like a freight train. ๐Ÿ™‚ However, I’ve had a lot of training, and usually for acting, presentations and public speaking I purposely slow down my speech. Somehow sitting there and talking to Shaun face to face was more intimate. It felt more like a regular conversation and I sped up ๐Ÿ™‚

It was a very interesting experience to be interviewed live on the radio. I was sitting behind the counter right there on the Expo floor (you can hear the folks in the background on the interview). We wore big black radio headsets-I felt like a superstar! Now the picture below is NOT ME-unfortunately I didn’t get a picture snapped of me being interviewed. It is of Wendy Piersall, CEO of Sparkplugging-but it gives you an idea of the setup.

The other great thing about my experience with Blog Talk Radio was that I finally got to meet Deb Ng face to face. Deb used to author “Simply Thrifty” on the B5 media network-she and I have been reading each other’s work for quite some time. We recently reconnected via Twitter-she no longer writes Simply Thrifty, but continues to write her very popular blog “Freelance Writing Jobs” as well as being a community manager for Blog Talk Radio.

Jennifer – I can’t tell you what pleasure it was to meet you – finally!

Hopefully this won’t be the last time, either.

Hey…when are you starting your own BlogTalkRadio show?

You sounded great! Not too fast at all. Hope they pick you up for a local radio or TV spot to get out the frugal word in these economically stressed times. Congratulations!
