Giveaway: 1 Year of Kraft Mac ‘n Cheese

GIVEAWAY CLOSED

Some things are just a “win-win” situtuation.

*cue twilight zone music*

Imagine if you will being offered the opportunity to receive a years supply (that’s 50 boxes) of  Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.  Who wouldn’t jump at that? After all when you have a 5 (almost 6) year old and an 8 year old in the house, Macaroni and Cheese is pretty much our lifeblood around here!  Add to that the opportunity to help out one of my readers (who are all trying to save a buck while living better) by hosting a giveaway where someone wins their own 50 boxes of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.

And then, as if all of that weren’t enough, imagine that just for hosting the giveaway Kraft wouldl donate yet another 50 boxes to Feeding America*.  Wow, in these economic times I’m sure there are plenty of folks in need who would benefit from that!

But wait, there’s more! If a person were to use twitter, imagine that for every single tweet they did during the day with the #bluebox hashtag on the end of it, Kraft donated another box of Macaroni and Cheese to Feeding America, up to a total of 1 million boxes.  Wouldn’t that be a great way to help those in need without spending a dime yourself?

Well imagine no more-because that is in fact the opportunity I was offered by Kraft!

This giveaway runs from Tuesday July 14 until midnight, Eastern Standard Time on Monday July 20th.

So, how do you enter? Here are the rules.  Remember in order to be counted EACH ENTRY MUST BE A SEPARATE COMMENT.  Really folks, if you leave one comment and list 3 things you did, it only gets counted ONCE.

#1-Leave a comment here with how you like to eat your Macaroni and Cheese.  Yes, plain is an acceptable answer, but it is a heck of a lot more fun for the rest of us if you share some neat “dress it up” ideas!

#2-Head on over to the Share a Little Comfort website and click to have a box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese donated to Feeding America. (feel free to print yourself a coupon while you are there) Come back and comment about it.

#3-Tweet about this contest using this link and hashtag: http://budurl.com/8tv8  #bluebox, then come back and comment.

#4-Once a DAY you can do an additional tweet using the #bluebox hashtag and get an additional entry. Of course you have to come tell me about it.

There you go, plenty of ways to enter.  Good luck to you all.

PS-Thanks to those of you who let me know about the broken link for Share a little comfort. It’s fixed now 🙂

*Note: Feeding America, formerly America’s Second Harvest, is the nation’s leading domestic hunger relief charity. Each year, the Feeding America network provides food assistance to more than 25 million low-income people facing hunger in the United States, securing and distributing more than 2 billion pounds of donated food and grocery products annually.

One time we were out of milk. So I subbed some miracle whip. This made the creamiest macncheese ever. Try it!

I love Macaroni and Cheese pretty much any way you make it! My brother always says I’m the only one who can make the Kraft original kind for him, which is kind of hard as we live several states apart these days! One way I like to make it is to toss in some tuna fish (canned) and add some parmesan cheese, along w. some shredded mozzarella. SO yummy!

I just donated a box through Share a Little Comfort, and am posting the information in our “Have a Heart” forum on the mommy website I belong to so I can get some of the 2000 moms to do it, too!

I admit, I really like it plain. Nothing in the world tastes quite like it and adding anything to it just lessens that for me!

This is so exciting! I like it with salsa, whatever protein I have around (chicken, cooked bacon, or best of all smoked ham), fresh chopped scallion, and minced cilantro. If I don’t have salsa, I will used canned diced or crushed tomatoes and cumin powder and crushed garlic

I prefer my mac and cheese plain. That said my mom used to make it a whole meal for us growing up with some hamburger and peas – not bad and a big hit with the kids. Or my husband has eaten with tuna added as a meal. That one used to gross out my college roommate, but again pretty good.

Plain is best, but I’ve been know to add a small brick of cream cheese, put it in an ovenproof dish, top it with bread crumbs, and then broil for a couple of minutes. Festive and delicious.

I fry up some ground venison, chopped onion, and chopped peppers along with salt and pepper then add it to a prepared box of mac and cheese. It’s a simple cheeseburger mac that stretches out a box of mac and cheese to feed more people. And best of all the venison, onion, and pepper all come from our farm. We love it!

How do I like to eat my Mac & Cheese? It’s kinda fun supreme pizza style! I cook the mac and when done, add diced pepperoni, green peppers, red onion, mushrooms (cooked or canned), and serve with a little bit of oregano or basil sprinkled on it. YUM!

Second fave way is with diced up lowfat hot dogs in it and ketchup drizzled on top. (I’m a kid at heart, what can I say?)

  23. Laurieintexas says

    July 15, 2009 at 6:57 am

I tweeted #bluebox today! You ask how do we eat Mac-n-cheese?! Well, when I was a kid we used to eat Kraft Mac n Cheese for tea parties, hats/dresses/gloves/tea-set it was a great top it off snack! My kiddo did the same thing! Pass it on!

  24. Sally says

    July 15, 2009 at 7:01 am

My family likes to add extra cheese. One year my husband recieved a shaker can of Kraft sprinkle cheese in his Christmas stocking (sold at Wal-Mart). If we don’t have that in the house we add Cheese Whiz.

Try this~~ Make the mac & cheese as usual then chill and use it as a base for a macaroni salad! I add chopped tomatoes, cukes, onions, hard boiled eggs, shredded cheddar cheese and Hellmans mayo. It gets raves at cookouts!

I like it fried with cholula sauce. All you have to do is cook it then chill it pressed in a loaf pan. Slice into wedges and batter it as you would tempura or whatever batter and fry to a golden brown in oil. Yumm!!!
