Cool-I show up on the first page in Google for “Thomas the Train Recall”. Isn’t search engine optimization a weird and wonderful thing? I thought that the recall was pretty big news, I can’t believe my little blog blurb (was it yesterday? the day before-time blurs you know) actually comes up on the front page of Google along with ABC news and the corporate site.

Just in case you didn’t know, Google owns Blogger.
Yes, I am aware of that. But under my admittedly limited understanding of Search Engine Optimization-that really shouldn’t make much difference. (course, I could be wrong-it has been known to happen :))
Supposedly it has more to do with the “authority” of your blog from incoming and outgoing links, the authority of the people who made THOSE links, the keywords you use when you make those liks (ie a link that says “click here” doesn’t count as much as one that syas “thomas the train recall” and links to a thomas the train recall” article).
Also, I got several hits from other search engines where the search term was also “Thomas the Train Recall”. What really floored me was that there must not have been very many other folks writing about it who were judged by the SEO algorythms to be more authoritative than me! Weird!
