but apparently they won’t comment, at least much!
Just wondering today-why don’t I get many comments to my posts? I average about 140 hits a day, and about 1/2 of those are folks who check back in, and the other half are from various search engines (google of course being the big one-my dry laundry soap recipe and my Amish Friendship Bread starter seem to be the biggest hits). But I usually don’t get much in the way of comments.
So I’m wondering, why is that? Is it because there just isn’t anything you guys want to comment on? Are my post to much along the informative line and not enough on the personal line? Am I just not controversial? Do I have spinach stuck in my teeth?
Please take a moment today and let me know what you think-I’d appreciate it, and can use the information to make my blog better.

I subscribe to your blog via Google Reader, and I enjoy reading. Often though, I find myself clicking on the links you provide and not coming back to comment on the link or the post. I really do enjoy the information you provide, and as a fellow Upstater I like to hear how you find ways to save money!
I wonder if people don’t comment because they mistakenly think they have nothing valuable to add, which may be a leftover from the days when our parents would say “be silent unless you have something to say.”
I have over 60 posts on my “Dolor’s Rants” blog and only a fraction of the posts have received comments even though I have over a 1000 hits to the blog.
Perhaps, as Web 2.0 matures, more and more people will feel comfortable with commenting.
I am the people Dolor Ipsum was talking about. I found your blog while I was looking for frugal living/thriftiness hints, tips, and tricks. I liked it enough to bookmark it, and I’ve been coming back, but I think of blog reading more like reading a book & I’m not one to write in the margins.
For what it’s worth, I have 10-20 regular readers of my personal blog, and I generally get one comment every 3 posts, unless I post something that really generates a visceral response, anger or commiseration or the like. People just don’t comment much.
Tips for improvement: it might be nice to have pictues with the Princess Lunchbox Report, a la the Vegan Lunchbox, but I’m a longtime reader of the Vegan Lunchbox, so I’m a bit biased.
I love your blog, but I am usually too lazy to comment. š
I have tried so hard to comment on your blog. I really enjoy reading it. Somehow I am never able to get it to go through. Rita
I read, but don’t comment much, very similar to home, eh?
DH
I don’t comment usually since I feel like I don’t have much to add, but I’ll step it up so you know I do appreciate your ideas. Which is why I was here today, looking for your Christmas ideas, I think I’m going to try the peppermint bark, it seems easy enough!
Hi Jenn. Just to let you know I appreciate your thoughts and tips, though the lunch box is not so very interesting to me. The reason I don’t comment much on any blog is 1. I don’t feel I have much to say and 2. English is not my native language. All the best from Borealis – trying to battle consumerism and stay organized in Oslo
I love your blog, especially the lunchbox, but agree on the picture issue. People like to see pictures! š
I really like your blog, because of the frugal tips, and also like the personal touch (princess’s lunchbox). but I really don’t know what to say sometimes.
But thank you for letting us read your blog.
eekspider.
I like your blog just fine! I have you bookmarked into my Frugal file.
I don’t comment much because I’m really not that frugal, and I can’t really say anything apropos.
But I do love reading it, so thanks!
Love your blog and check back regularly, but I can never think of anything to comment. Ruth
Thanks to everyone for the comments and advice. Sometimes I just wonder if anyone is getting anything out of this š
I especially want to thank Amy for pointing me over to the vegan lunchbox-some of her recipes look interesting, but the bento style lunchbox she uses for her son really rocks! I may have to buy one. . . . .
Rita-sorry you’ve had problem commenting. sometimes blogger doesn’t play well with other computer systems etc. . . . but at least you got through this time.
Thank you for your blog and nice recipes! Some of your ideas I’m going to add to my soap recipes collection. Hope to read more valuable information on your blog in the future!
