When oh when will I ever have a “normal” week again?
Hubs is at Deer Camp tonight, probably tomorrow as well, then the kids are off of school starting Wednesday, of course Thursday is Thanksgiving here in the US, then hubs heads out for hunting again on Friday. . .So it is a very strange week from a menu standpoint.
Well here we go anyway.
Monday: Waffles
Since I’m 99% sure that hubs won’t be home for dinner tonight, we’ll do breakfast for dinner. He’s not a fan of that 🙂 The kids will be thrilled.
Tuesday: Chicken Divan, Broccoli & Rice
I haven’t made this in a long time. For those of you not familiar with it, Chicken Divan is chicken and Broccoli cooked in a creamy sauce with a touch of lemon and cheese. Mmmm.
Wednesday: Homemade Pizza
As always, I’ll use the Pizza Hut Crust Clone recipe. Usually we do pizza on Friday, but I thought I’d mix it up a bit. We actually might wind up making it as calzones instead of pizza.
Thursday: Thanksgiving at my Mother in Law’s.
I’m bringing the cranberry relish and a loaf of quick bread~zuchinni, banana, spice. . . something like that.
Friday: Turkey Soup & Homemade Bread
Although my MIL keeps the turkey carcass for her own soup, I’m sure to be sent home with enough turkey and veggies to make a nice pot of soup.
Saturday: Venison Stroganoff, Chard and Noodles
I’ve got to clear a bit more of last year’s venison out of the freezer. . .
Sunday: Leftovers
I hate throwing out food, so I’ve got to occasionally throw in a “leftovers” night. If there are only little bits, I’ll whip up a curry instead using the leftovers as an ingredient

Jenn-
We go to a Thanksgiving dinner party every year. The turkeys are deep fried by my husband for the party. I like the house smelling of Thanksgiving so I do a personal immediate family dinner the Sunday before the holiday every year and I have plenty of leftovers. Plus with the turkeys so inexpensive I purchase at least two, one for the sunday and then I cook one in December. I love the leftovers from my Sunday dinner, I usually don’t go crazy with the side dishes, but I will use up my turkey carcass in plenty of recipes:)

What kind of bread maker do you have?
You have to love deer camp weeks! Of course our house ends up being the ‘deer camp’ as we live on the farm where the family hunts. My favorite part is the traditional ‘First Day’ early morning breakfast that comes on the Monday after Thanksgiving here in PA. I’ll be up early putting the french toast casserole (your recipe and we love it!!) in the oven then frying eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc to feed the hunters that show up around 5-5:30 a.m. Then it’s throw supper in the crockpot (usually chili) and off to the woods I go with the hubby to watch for that big buck and whatever else we may see. Good times…
You are a Hunting Widow too, Mine goes every weekend if he is not working.
Hey Jenn,
What brand bread maker do you have? We are looking for one but they all have mixed reviews.

Shucks, now I posted my question twice. I’m sorry about that.
Hmm. . .I hear you on not having a normal week! It really makes meal planning crazy. I prefer to be on autopilot whenever possible.
Thanks, by the way for posting your weekly menu plans. Very cool! I’m helping some family members work on their menu organization so this will be a great tool.
I hope the kids liked the waffles! Great menu and hope you have a good Thanksgiving… CJR
