Need Your Help

May 2, 2006 By Jenn @ Frugal Upstate 13 Comments

Hello all~today I should be posting my favorites from the Festival of Frugality, but it isn’t up yet. I’ll post with that later today.

A quick question for everyone-Do you get popup ads when you visit my blog? JLP of AllFinancialMatters had wanted to link to my blog, but said that there were pop-ups, and they have a strict “no popup” policy.

Well, I don’t get popups when I log onto my site as a visitor. The only way I can get popups is if I click off my site and onto the bravenet site via the hit counter on the right side. Please leave a quick note and let me know if you get popups when you visit so I can figure out how to fix this issue.

I don’t get popups, but I’m pretty sure my husband has them blocked.

I don’t have a pop-up blocker at work and I’ve never got a pop-up on your blog, home or at work.

Yes, I got popups, but not consistently. Haven’t figured out if there’s any pattern.

Okay, I take that back. I came to your blog in error from my pulldown menu (meant to go to the one above it) and got a pop-up, navigated to the website I wanted, then decided to come back and update the comments, and got yet another, different pop-up.

Well, this is all just too weird. There just doesn’t seem to be much of a rhyme or reason to it. Hmmm.

Well, personally they don’t bother me too much as long as I only get one per visit, but I understand how some folks dislike them. I’m not getting any kind of compensation for having them, so I guess I’ll just have to kill the bravenet stuff. I installed Sitemeter the other day anyhow, I’ll have to check out what other applications etc they have.

Thanks to everyone for their help, and Sunshine, glad you like it here 🙂

No pop-ups for me. But I remove spyware and cookies every few weeks, so that might make the difference.

No popups for me… I use Firefox though which has a pretty decent popup blocker.
