I’m planning on eventually having both sidebars the same color, just trying these on for size. What do you all think of these types of colors? Too Christmasy? Likes? Dislikes? Other suggestions?
I like the new colors and template, but the Green has to go — With the brown/biege, maroon, and light blue, it’s good. The Green is too much. I’m not a pink fan, but that seems to fit you palette better, although I’d up the saturation a bit.
Another little thing when you’re designing — make sure to check your template on different platforms and browsers. Sometimes Macs and PCs have slight color variations, and some set-ups look good in Explorer, but not Firefox, Netscape, and Safari.
Anon #-Actually, the only reason the green lettering is still on there is because I couldn’t figure out how to get rid of it! But interesting to know you still like it. I honestly was trying to change that over to the green. Plus the green probably should be more “forest”. The real question is should I go burgandy/forest green and dump the pink all together or dump the green all together. .. . . or I could scrap the whole thing. Ahhhh, choices!
Anon #2-Yeah, that is pretty blinding, but honestly since I keep changing the colors around it is just one of those things that I’m sort of waiting to change till I get closer to complete. I could just spend all day in front of the computer. . . ..
I like the pink/plum colour scheme (no green!)…alike enough to match, different enough to draw the eye to different areas.
But….
This is the very reason why I, with my limited knowledge of HTML (LOL), chose a predominantly white colour scheme! When I’m a bit more blog-savvy I’d like to fix a few things (I did think about joining your challenge but I’d only JUST redone most of the major structural stuff and had no ‘before’ shot – but maybe you can help me centre my columns on my page??? LOL).
Again, this must be one of those color combos that looks TOTALLY different on other folks browsers, because the green is NOT bright on my computer. I’m going to be adjusting stuff more-don’t worry guys. This is, indeed, a work in progress. Thanks for all the feedback.
This isn’t about colors, but font (i’m a text person). I think you need to get a font type that’s more rounded and “finished” looking. I liked the old text on the blog… I think it makes websites look more professional.
You can check out the colors on my computer-the green is bright (I like green and I like bright so this is not a complaint). You should research the psychology of color to help you decide on a color scheme, I know that navy makes folks think of integrity etc. Interesting, no?

The Shamrock green is waaay too much with the red lettering for your lunch box reports. WOW. Blinding on this end.
Other than that, I like it. 🙂

Love the site, but the green causes pain, LOL.

Too much color going on…it’s hard to focus. My eyes keep leaving the middle to the sidebars.
I like all the colors. But NOT together. lol
It’s very BRIGHT!
Maybe the green could be replaced with a low-sat navy blue. Not sure how it would look with the background color though.
