Reader’s Question: Why not add a “this week in the past” feature?

Hi Jenn,

I wonder if you have considered adding a feature such as Trent has on The Simple Dollar, with posts containing links to useful, timeless posts from that week during previous years on your blog. I’ve been a long-time reader, and I think that you have a lot of material that would qualify.

Best wishes to your family for an enjoyable Thanksgiving,

Lora

Lora,

That is an interesting idea!  I do have years and years of archives, and I realize that not many people delve through them unless they are looking for a particular topic. . . that would be a great way to expose readers to other interesting articles.

I think I’ll give it a shot! What do you all think? Would you like to see something like that once a week? Since right now I typically blog Mon-Fri, would you prefer it to take up a current day, or to be added on as a Saturday post?

And while we are at it, what do you particularly think works well on Frugal Upstate? What would you like to see change/added?

Thanks!

Jenn

    Saturday post!

Or if you are having a busy week like you’ve been having lately, push it up a day or two to give us something to read while we’re missing you 🙂

I’ve seen other blogs do this and I kind of like it–some things never get old and there’s always the chance I haven’t seen it before. Go for it, I say.

I would love it if you could have your blog talk radio show again. I really miss it. I thought you were going to have it on a monthly basis? What happened?

Definitely point us to some of your old favorites. I only discovered your blog about 6 months ago, and I have perused around in some of your old content. But a weekly feature pointing us to some of the “best-of” would be terrific! Keep up the great blog! I love it!

I would love it to be a Saturday post! You have many wonderful past posts that would be great for newbies and just as wonderful reminders for the rest.

Hmmmmm…not sure what to suggest to add/change… maybe a monthly frugal challenge of some sort??!! hmmmm…

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I would definitely enjoy seeing a look back into the archives. I know life can get busy, but I would like to see it in addition to the regular posts. Or repeating the suggestion from above, post one when life gets too crazy and you don’t have time to write a new post.
