A few years ago someone sent me a link to a neat recipe site where you could just punch in the miscellaneous items you had in your fridge, and it would pull up recipes from the web. Since it is 2:25 and I have absolutely no ideas for dinner I thought it would be a neat idea to try it and then do a post about it. After all, what is more frugal than using up food you have already bought for a meal rather than running out to buy something new.
Needless to say, I found several recipe search sites, but not the one I was looking for. But sometimes when you are looking for one thing, you find something totally different that is quite wonderful.
I found an interesting site called “Cooking for Engineers“.
Now how fun is that? I had a lot of friends in college (way back when) who were engineers, so it struck me as funny. This is cooking for the analytically minded! Obviously I haven’t tried any of the recipes yet, but I really like the layout of the site, the clarity and explanations provided with the recipes I perused, and the fact that there were lots of pictures of the various steps for each recipe. There was also a cool little chart at the bottom of each recipe that probably makes perfect sense if you are an engineer.
So take a look and enjoy, and if you think you have a link to the recipe search site I might be thinking of, please post!

I think I know the site you’re talking about – it’s allrecipes.com
