This weeks festival was over at Queercents. As always, lots of great reads. Some of my favorites are below. Happy reading!!!
Book review of “How to Be a Budget Fashionista” over at Young and Broke. And even though it isn’t in the festival this week, The Bargain Queen also has a book review of it.
The Bargain Queen has a great article on whether expensive skin care products are really worth the cost. To be honest, all I uses is no name brand Oil of Olay ripoff (with SPF 15). Seems to work fine for me. . . .
The Finance Journey wrote about something I am tackling this week-reducing your phone costs!
The Reformed Cynic has an interesting article about the things the college students in his area throw out, and what it says about our culture.

Reducing your phone costs!?!?!? Is that why you havn’t called me!? 😉
Interesting about expensive skin care… I have been using the same (Purpose with SPF 15) moisturizer for 10+ years. It is one of the only lotions that doesn’t make my face rash….if they ever discontinue it I’ll be bummed.
Well actually dh hates my cell phone, and the battery only lasts like one day before it needs a charge, plus we’ve had it on with full bars and not received calls before. . . .but because we still have a year left on our contract we can’t get a supercheap phone-the cheapest is like $100. . . so I’m considering options.
The reason I haven’t called you is because there is like an 11 hour time difference and an awful echo on the line 🙂 I’m just a terrible rotten sister.
Thanks so much for mentioning my post! One small correction – I’m a she ;).
It never ceases to amaze me how wasteful the average American has become. My mother (born in the early 30’s) and other older relatives can comfortably run a household on a quarter (maybe even less) of what many people spend – and still manage(d) to have wonderful meals, beautiful homes, travel, and save. People are so wrapped up in getting that they lose sight of being and experiencing.
