Do you ever wonder what your family thinks of your frugality? Well, I think that this dream that my brother posted to our “Myfamily.com” family site is VERY revealing 🙂
**Note-remember, this is a dream. No offense meant to any Mormons out there, I’m sure your cooking is WONDERFUL. Also, just as an FYI, the Narthex is the name for the entryway or vestibule of a church.
So, I had this dream the other night (I know, a scary way to start off a post), and there was this big ophthalmology dinner in a cathedral somewhere. Anyway, I was sitting in the narthex (there were lots of tables). The lady next to me ordered the tortellini as an appetizer (I got something else), and then she complained that it was cold, and was going to call the waitress back.
Then Jenn, who was sitting across from us, said “Only our Aunt serves them hot. They’re supposed to be cold. The Mormons just take them out of the freezer and mix them with leftover bits of lollypop.”
So there you have it, Ted’s (or is it Jenn’s?) recipe for Mormon Tortellini:
1 package cheese tortellini, unthawed
1 bag leftover lollypop bits
Mix together and let thaw.
Serve cold.
So what do you think that says about my family’s view of me??? *Wink*

Hey, for all we know–it might taste good!
The tortellini might symbolize that you are ‘rich in spirit,’ or maybe ‘spicy.’ (I will NOT say cheesy!)
The lollipops mean you are sweet, of course–but the leftover part reflects your frugality.
And the dream in itself means that the kid’s been paying attention to you, even if only on a subconcious level.
Finally a meal that my children will love!
My one sister who is deployed to Iraq told this dream to one of her Mormon NCO’s, and he told her he expects “Mormon Tortelli” to show up at his next church potluck 🙂
