Welcome to week six of the Frugal Food Series.
So far we’ve talked about eggs, tuna, beans , ground meat, and chicken. This week we are highlighting all those great, cheap, filling foods that we use to round out a meal: Potatoes, Pastas and Grains!
I know, I know “low carb” is in right now, but let’s face it, many carbs are filling! Yes, you might serve meat and vegetables, but it’s the bread, rice, pasta, potatoes etc that really fill your family up. . . especially those male types that seem to have a hollow leg at times.
So pull out your favorite bread, biscuit or muffin recipes. Share how you dress up plain old pasta, potatoes or rice. Branch out and get creative and tell us about those unusual grains and pastas like quinoa, amaranth or couscous that your family has come to love.
Remember, you will always be able to find the all of the Frugal Food Series links at the Frugal Food Series Index!
