Recipe: German Potato Salad

April 14, 2011 By Jenn @ Frugal Upstate 6 Comments

Looking for something a little different to do with your potatoes? Try this classic German Potato Salad, which is served warm. It’s got a slightly sweet & sour taste to the warm dressing, and of course the delicious kick of bacon!

I’ve found that cooking the (scrubbed) potatoes in their skins then peeling gives a better flavor.

Interesting tip! I’ll have to try it next time and see if I notice a difference.

    Hi,

Just found this recipe. I’ve never made German potato salad before but can’t wait to try it! Wondered when making it as a side when grilling, how many people do you expect to serve with this amount?

    Thanks!

Julie~well of course it depends on how big a serving each person takes. But with 6 cups of potatoes 6 people could have a 1 cup portion, which would be a pretty big helping of potato salad!
