Okay gentlemen, this might not be a post that you want to read… I know how squeamish some of you can be. Today, I’m going to talk about incontinence protection.

Now I’ve been pretty lucky in my life, even after having children I rarely have a problem with “pee leakage”. Sure the occasional dribble happens if I have a coughing fit or laugh really hard–doesn’t it for any woman who’s had children? After all–#PeeHappens!   I’m aware that some women have a little more of an issue than I do-as a matter of fact 1 in 3 women in the US do!  No one likes to be embarrassed by a leak--and the last thing you want is to feel like you can’t the things you love because you’re worried about a little pee.

Besides personal issues,  I’m at the point of life where I’m starting to be concerned about older relatives. My father, mother, and mother-in-law are all in their 70s. I even have a great-grandmother who is in her 90’s. Possible incontinence becomes more of an issue the older you get, and I want to be prepared to help my family in a matter of fact and un-embarrassed way when the issue crops up.

I’m not very brand loyal in general, but one product I’ve always been faithful to are Always brand menstrual pads. I have found them fit the best, leak the least, and have the driest feel. Plus their ultra thins are really ultrathin!  When I heard Always was making incontinence products, I knew that they’d be good. They offered to send me some in the mail to check out.

Always Discrete

The Always Discreet pads may look like your typical maxi pad, but they are built specifically for incontinence issues. They come with the extra protection of Dual LeakGuard barriersâ„¢, innovative OdorLockâ„¢ technology that neutralizes odors instantly, and Advanced Core Technology to absorbs and locks away fluids.  Always Discreet pads are up to 40 percent thinner than the leading brand and absorb twice as much fluid as women may need (based on average US consumer usage).  Thinner with more absorbency–you can’t beat that!

Always Discrete Undergarment

The disposable Always Discreet underwear offer all of the same protection as the pads. Granted no one’s going to mistake them for regular underwear, but no one’s going to think they are a diaper either. They come in a pretty feminine print, and have multiple rows of soft elastic gathering to make them fit any body type.

Always Discrete stretch waistband

Don’t just take my word on all of this–Take Good Housekeepings!  Always Discreet was recently granted the Good Housekeeping Seal and named Product of the Year in the bladder protection category!  That says to me that they can be trusted to provide discreet, comfortable and incredible protection from bladder leaks. They also were granted a Better Homes and Gardens Best New Product Award.
