Clean Path

November 21, 2014 By Jenn @ Frugal Upstate 1 Comment

I’ve got a problem.  I just hate throwing away anything that can be reused.  It really bothers me to throw away a perfectly good glass jar, plastic spray bottle or plastic bag.  It’s actually embarrassing how many washed & empty jars I have down in the basement (and that’s after getting rid of a bunch and trying not to collect more!)  Recycling helps a bit–and I do try to rinse and recycle as much as possible.  Still–I hate the amount of waste we generate in today’s society, but I can’t keep cluttering up my home and there are certain things you do have to buy.

That’s why I thought the idea of CleanPath  cleaners and soaps are so cool!  (available only at Walmart)

You buy a starter bottle with a pod attached–each pod makes 3 full bottles of whatever it is–glass cleaner, multipurpose cleaner, hand soap, hand santizer etc.  When you’ve used all 3 refills instead of buying a whole new sprayer or bottle, you just buy another pod.  Much smaller, much less waste.  And the pods are smaller and more concentrated, so it uses less fuel to ship them, which is also good for the environment!

Turn Clean upside down with CleanPath at Walmart

I was sent some Glass Cleaner, Multi Surface Cleaner and Foaming Hand Soap by the folks at Clean Path.

To use you just unscrewed the pod from the bottom and remove the seal.  There is a donut shaped gasket in there-if it comes out put it back in, if not don’t worry about it.

You reattach the pod then turn the bottle over and squeeze with both hands into the little build in measuring cup.  When it gets to the “fill” line stop squeezing and turn the bottle back over.

Now just unscrew the top, fill with water up to that fill line, and replace the top.  A quick shake to make sure everything is combined and you are good to go!

How to use the Clean Path Refill Pods from Walmart

So how much does all this cost?  Well the initial bottle of CleanPath product with the 3 refill pod attached is $3.58 at Walmart, which works out to $1.20 per bottle full of cleaner/soap (since it makes 3).  The refill pods are $2.28 and make 3 refills, so that is $.76 per bottle using the refill pods.  So it’s not only a great way to cut down on plastic use, it’s also a huge savings!

And how do they work?  Well, like glass cleaner and multi surface cleaner 🙂  I thought they measured up just fine to the other products I’ve used in the past.

So next time you are at Walmart, check out CleanPath products in the cleaning aisle.

Thanks for the information about these products. I am definitely going to try them. I HATE lugging heavy bags the store ! This will solve that problem and since I like to have ‘stock’ on hand so I don’t have to run out & buy something I ran out of, I can store lots of refill pods in a small space!
