I admit, when Radio Shack approached me about their Holiday Gift Smart campaign I wasn’t sure. Even though our local Radio Shack is right next to our favorite pet store (where we buy all our guinea pig supplies and dog food) it had been years since I had stepped inside. I like the idea of smart gifts for smart folks–and of course as a blogger with teens and preteens in the house I’ve got plenty of fans of the latest in electronics. Still unsure I did what any good blogger would do. . . I did a quick Google search and came up with this year’s holiday commercial featuring none other than Weird Al!
Now that’s some smart (and fun) stuff! Obviously I have been missing out.
Turns out RadioShack not only carries familar brands like FitBit, Apple and Dell, but they also have their own exclusive, private brand products. Their AUVIO brand offers a complete line of Bluetooth speakers. I thought the AUVIO Limited Edition Wood-grain Headphones and wood-grain accented earbuds looked amazing! And don’t forget all the mobile accessories–what smart phone or tablet user on your list couldn’t use some of their portable power accessories to keep themselves charged on the go? They start as low as $14.99–so you can even pick a few “smart” things up for stocking stuffers.
There are plenty of other fun things to check out as well. Princess in particular though the RadioShack’s Water Dancing Speakers were fun. They are actually filled with water and send up jets of air bubbles that are lit with colored lights in time to the music.
Another awesome thing about RadioShack is how knowledgeable the staff is. They really understand their products and can offer you help and advice that is personalized and useful. Try getting that in some other stores!
RadioShack sent me a few items to check out personally. They came in a beautiful box wrapped with red ribbon.
First was a Power It portable power source (rechargeable 4000mAh battery –up to 13 hours* of talk time per charge) and a built-in speaker. It’s the holidays, and I know I should probably give the Power It away as a gift. . . but honestly I have been needing a backup power source for my phone, so I think I’m just going to take RadioShack at their word and accept it as a gift for me!
The second gift was a pair of Auvio folding headphones with a microphone. They are in a bright purple–one of Princess’s favorite colors. At just $12.49 these are another fun gift at a great price. The built-in mic allows you to make and take calls when they’re used with most smartphones.
