Want to give your holiday table a little extra oomph, but don’t want to spend a fortune?  Then these simple, inexpensive Glitzy Holiday Napkin Rings are for you!

Glitzy Holiday Napkin Rings Tutorial

I learned how to make these on the Walmart Moms Holiday Trip down to Walmart Headquarters this year.  One of our favorite presenters–Max from Better Homes and Gardens– did a gorgeous tablescape with items from Walmart.  This guy shows up on a plane a day ahead of us, glue gun in hand, and pops off to Walmart store 1 to buy supplies.  All the decorations are made with items right off the Walmart shelves that night in his hotel room.  He’s amazing–I want to take him home and have him decorate my house!

Better Homes and Gardens Napkin Ring Decorating Ideas

He showed us several great decorating tips, including how to make these Glitzy Holiday Napkin Rings.  When Walmart asked me to share a holiday decorating project here on Frugal Upstate, I just had to make these napkin rings!

Materials for Glitzy Holiday Napkin Rings

Materials:

Holiday Clip Ornaments ($1.488 ea)

2″ Glitter Ribbon ($4.98 for a roll–PLENTY left over)

Mainstays Napkins ($1.97 per 2pk)

Toilet Paper Tubes (Free)

Glue Gun (available at Walmart but I already had one)

Making Glitzy Holiday Napkin Rings

1.  Use the ribbon to see how long you need to cut your tubes.  I cut off a small piece to make my life easier.  I got 1 ring out of each tube–if you use paper towel tubes or those tubes from the center of your wrapping paper you can get far more.

2.  Glue your ribbon around the tube.

3.  Cut a small slit or notch through your beribboned tube.  Before you cut you probably want to hold your clip up to it and see how it needs to be placed–depending on the construction of your clip ornament it might not be 100% centered.

4.  Clip your ornament through the slit.

That’s it–you are done!

Completed Glitzy Napkin Rings

These look just magnificent–and if you use them at a dinner party you could have the guest take the clip home as an ornament for their tree!
