Do you have a Christmas Pajama tradition?
We didn’t have a specific tradition growing up–but as my kids have gotten older we’ve found it fun to make sure everyone had a new pair of PJ’s to wear on Christmas. It’s “clothes”–which sometimes the younger set doesn’t particularly like–but since they are soft and cozy and usually feature fun patterns or favorite characters everyone seems to enjoys them. Not only that, but in our house it’s usually right around December that it’s getting too cold for the kids to sleep in just their favorite soft worn T shirts anymore and I realize they’ve outgrown last years warm jammies. So it’s a win win in the gift department–something they will enjoy and I need to buy anyway!
Walmart asked me to talk about fashion for Christmas, so of course my mind turned to PJ’s! We had seen a wide selection of the new PJ’s and slippers during our trip to Walmart Headquarters in Oct (yes, retail starts thinking Christmas in Oct or earlier).
I decided to concentrate on Princess for this post. Now she’s 13, but extremely petite. That’s hard because most of the Juniors clothing is still too big for her (she can wear like a 0 in pants and and XS or XXS if you can find it in tops etc). On the other hand if I shop in the kids department then the colors and designs are just to “kiddie” for my mature 8th grader!
I hit the ladies department to see what I could find.
There was a wide selection of robes, nightgowns, two piece PJ sets and even just sleep pants for the gal who likes to do fuzzy pants and a T shirt of their own. I’m confident that any lady could find something comfy that they like at their local Walmart! I was able to find a fuzzy fleece two piece set in Princess’s favorite aqua blue and a size XS. And the set was only $14!
While we were on our trip one of the items they showed us was the Faded Glory “Super Minky” robes. They are SO SOFT. Seriously. I tried one on and they practically had to pry me out of it:
So. Soft.
Obviously these robes are extremely popular–my Walmart only had a few left, and they were already sold out online (of every pattern in every size). My store had a SINGLE robe in size small left.
Princess isn’t really into the “pink” thing anymore, but I don’t think she will care once she feels this robe. Have I happened to mention how insanely soft it is?
Why am I telling you all about a robe that isn’t even in stock? Well because your store might still have them, and at $18 it’s a fantastic gift. Plus–it won’t always be out of stock online. I’d keep an eye on it and buy one when they come back in stock–if you can’t find one in time for Christmas this robe would make a great birthday or other occasion for someone you love. Once they are back in stock I’m grabbing one for my mom for Mother’s Day!
I hope Princess likes hers!
