Do you have your Christmas Shopping done yet? Most of us don’t. I find my Christmas shopping tends to fall into two categories: “easy” people and “hard” people.
You know what I mean. There are some people where your know their tastes and interests so well that you could fill a cart with things they would appreciate and enjoy. But others. . .oh those others. Sometimes it’s a family member who you see so rarely that you don’t have an idea of what they are into. What IS your 12 year old nephew interested in these days? Another difficult person is the one who can buy whatever they like–and do! (Yes Dad, I’m looking at you!). Either way you can be stuck.

Here are a few of my favorites:
 I have this KitchenAid Classic mixer (but in the Red)–it was a Christmas gift a few years ago. I use it all the time for all kinds of baking, and we’ve purchased the meat grinder and sausage stuffer attachments (which I use a couple of times a year).  It’s a classic for a reason folks!
My kids love hot chocolate–so I know they would think this S’mores and Hot Chocolate kit is fun. At just under $10 it’s a great gift to give/send to kids you don’t know well, to give as a hostess gift, or to give to a family as a gift, maybe along with a nice movie.
Here’s something I never thought I would really use, but use quite a bit–a countertop icemaker! I know some of you are thinking “I’ve got a freezer–why would I spend $99 on an icemaker?”. Well true–you can use a freezer. . .if you have the space, if you are where your freezer is, if you’ve got power (more on that in a moment). This particular icemaker holds 2 lbs of ice at a time and can make 26lbs of ice in 24 hours (if you keep emptying the basket out). I’ve easily made enough ice to fill up our coolers before a party just by filling up the reservoir and starting it going the night before. Just dump the basket full of ice into the cooler every hour or so. Super convenient for parties etc. But here’s the extra special use. If you have a power inverter (the kind that you hook onto your car battery while it’s running to provide power to an extension cord–trust me, great gizmo to have on hand for power losses or remote camping etc) then you can plug this in and have ice anywhere! Power out in the summer? Make ice to fill your coolers. Throwing a party down by the lake where there is no power? No problem! Just make sure your inverter can handle the power requirements of the icemaker (which is far, far less than that of your compressor on your regular fridge–those things are power hogs).
Giftcards are always the right size and color :) Seriously though–for someone extra hard to shop for, give the gift of being able to pick out just what you want. I’ve noticed that sometimes children think this is especially fun since they frequently don’t have their own money to make purchases.
If you’ve got a girl between the ages of 2 and 10 in your house I don’t need to explain this one. It’s Frozen. It’s Sing A Long. It’s awesome.
Sure, the kids would like the Beats Earbuds–but that isn’t in my budget this year (plus they lose everything). At $8.38 these Skullcandy Earbuds are inexpensive, but still “cool” and userful.
 
I thought I was done shopping for Yankee Bill until I saw this rolling tool chest for $89. His tools are starting to take over the garage (no judgement–I have crafting and food preservation stuff taking over the house–it’s just he likes things more orderly). A rolling cart like this may be just what he needs to corral his stuff.
