One of the fun things about being a blogger is all the opportunities I get to play with new products! This time Walmart and TRESeme asked me to try out some hair products.
Of course I said yes. TRESeme happens to be Princess’s favorite shampoo brand–she LOVES the smell. I knew that this review would really be Princess reviewing the products because, well, I’ve got super short hair that doesn’t require any product at all, and she has gorgeous long hair. You can really see the contrast in the picture we took before the prom a couple weeks ago:
Seriously–who’s hair would you want to have a new product tried on? I don’t have a hair on my head that’s longer than 3 inches. She’s got this:
Now on to the product!
TRESeme has turned hair care on it’s head with their new reverse system available at your local Walmart. What’s the reverse in the system? Well, FIRST you use the TRESeme Beauty-Full Volume Pre Wash Conditioner, and then after that you use the TRESeme Beauty-Full Volume Shampoo.
I know, weird right? It’s so counter to everything we’ve been taught–they even put a big “1” and “2” on the bottles to make sure you remember!
The idea behind reversing the process is to give you volume with “a soft, touchable bounce”. Even the mousse and hairspray are formulated to be soft, not “crunchy” while still giving great hold.
Now I don’t know how you feel after reading that, but Princess and I approached the whole thing with a lot of skepticism. It all sounds so wrong. Wouldn’t the shampoo remove all the conditioner? Would the hair really stay tangle free and soft? Was the whole thing just a gimmick?
Surprisingly, after a week Princess reports that she really likes the the TRESeme Beauty-Full Volume Reverse System! She said it smells nice (and that lasts all day), washes/rinses out easily, gave extra volume for her fine hair (it’s fine, there is just tons OF it) and really did leave her hair feeling very soft. She finished her verbal report with “and I get to keep using it, right?”. So I’d say that’s a ringing endorsement from a teen.
Now on to the other product line TRESeme sent–the Nourish & Replenish shampoo and conditioner from their Botanique line. There are also “Detox and Restore” and “Damage Recovery” formulas:
The Nourish & Replenish System give a boost of quenching moisture; the Damage Recovery System repairs hair in need of serious rehab; and the Detox & Restore System to purifies hair of product build-up.
First off these smell AMAZING. (Princess wanted to steal these away from me as well, based just on the smell). I liked that the professional-quality formulas, with botanical blends, are free from parabens and dyes. It’s also infused with coconut milk and aloe vera for all that extra moisture and hydration. On my hair it provided moisture without making it feel greasy or limp (a problem I sometimes have since my hair is thin, thinning, and short).
So next time you are at Walmart picking up your groceries, or new curtains, or whatever you are getting that trip (most likely groceries and new curtains if you are like me–one stop shopping, I love it). . . why not take a look in the hair care aisle at the new TRESeme products to try! I think you’ll like them.
But don’t just take my word for it. . .
