Anyone who has read my blog for a while probably knows that both Yankee Bill and I are veterans. As a Walmart Mom I’m very pleased with all the programs they have to support veterans, like the Veteran’s Commitment which promises a job to any service member who was honorable discharged within the last 12 months (and to hire one hundred thousand veterans within five years).
Today I’m sharing with you on behalf of Walmart another wonderful veteran related program–their brand new “Wall of Honor” for Veteran’s Day!
The Walmart Wall of Honor is a simple idea. It’s a place to showcase veterans and their service, submitted by the ones who love them. Every person is added added to the virtual wall. You can even nominate important veterans in your lives who are no longer with us–I particularly loved seeing so many photos of WWII veterans along with the stories by their loved ones of how proud they were for their fathers and grandfathers service.
If you have a veteran you’d like to honor, it’s very easy. Just go to the Wall of Honor page and fill out the form! Name, message and a photo (which is optional). That’s it. You don’t have to create an account, answer lots of questions or give away your first born child.
So what are you waiting for? Head on over and submit someone who deserves to be remembered and honored!
