Dr. Who

OK, this is not related to frugality, but I’m just so excited! I just found out that there is a new Dr Who series that aired in England last year, and the first episode is playing on the SciFi channel tonight at 8pm! Here is the article about it.

So now you know one of my secrets. Not only can I quote the entire movie of “The Princess Bride” and know most of the Monty Python skits, but I was also a “Whovian” in the 80’s. Shall I also admit to my Dungeon and Dragons playing days????

Me too. Ennjoy your tv tonight! I saw a few episodes last year (aired on CBC here in Canada) and I found them too scary for me — I was pregnant at the time, and will use that as my excuse. A friend who’s a physicist from the UK says that a lot of his friends in grad school went into science because of Dr Who, which he says he used to watch back in the day while peeking from behind the sofa.

The new series is amazing! I hope you enjoy it, but I’ve seen the first season plus the “Christmas Invasion” episode that was a teaser for the second season.

It’s all the fun of Dr. Who–but suddenly they have a budget! And frankly, the actors are incredible. SOOO good. But watch out for that third episode. That one was a little freaky.

Here in Western NY we were able to watch the whole series on the CBC last spring–it’s excellent. Enjoy!!
