Happy Crafterday!
Brrr! It’s cold out! Sometimes it seems like spring will never come. We live in a big, old, 1890’s house and it’s a bit drafty. That’s a draft dodger (or “sand snake”) is a good idea.
I have a store bought one, but it’s pretty light and doesn’t seem to block the draft completely. This tutorial shows how to sew a basic draft dodger and fill it with clean sand–which should snug up against the door frame even better and keep the draft out more. Other tutorials I’ve seen use rice instead–typically inside of some plastic zippered sandwich bags to keep it from getting wet etc.
