
This fall, Walmart is giving away a years worth ($6000) of free groceries!
The contest starts on 3 October. To enter, you simply submit a money saving tip. The kicker? It’s got to be in video format.
All of the entries will be voted on by the public on Walmart’s YouTube Channel-the highest rated video wins the groceries!
The Eleven Moms are kicking off the event by “priming the pump” with our own videos, however those are just to give you all some ideas and encouragement-we are not eligible for the contest.
What? You don’t have a digital video camera? I understand!
Here are a few frugal alternatives:
1. Do you have a digital camera? Well, many digital cameras today will take short videos. The frugal You could do a short pithy tip, or you could take several different tips and then use Microsoft Moviemaker to edit them together.
2. Do you have friends? Yes, most of us have one or two. Start asking around. One of them may have either a digital video camera or else a regular camera that takes video. If you ask very nicely they might loan it to you, or even better, come over and film you!
3. Do you belong to any organizations? Your church or civic group may have a video camera that you can use.

Most computers now come with movie maker loaded, but if yours doesn’t it is available for free from Microsoft. You can download Microsoft Movie Maker here. There are also lots of good tips on how to use it on the “How to use” page.

How Fun. I was just playing around with my digital camera and Windows Movie Maker last night. I made my first movie with pictures. Still learning how to work with video and adding music.
