This week’s Festival of Frugality is up over at Frugal for Life. For those of you not familiar with the Festival, it is a weekly event. Anyone who likes can submit a post on any aspect of frugality using the Carnival Submit Form. Each week on Tuesday the Festival is posted at a different Blog. In support of the Frugal portion of the blogosphere, I am going to start doing a weekly article of my personal favorties/highlights from the Festival. This week’s is the 16th Festival of the year, and has a record 27 submissions.
All the submissions are great (so head on over and check them out), but here are a few that I found particularly interesting.
In the quest for financial independance, there are two routes, you can either make more money, or save more money. Money Dummy talks about why she concentrates more on saving than earning.
Wenchypoo’s Warehouse has a very thought provoking post “Working Women Are Finding Their Limit” Now that we have (pretty much) gotten what we asked for, has the women’s liberation movement actually tied us down more than it has freed us?
I like to talk about how the pennies add up-so does the hostess over at Educating the Wheelers.
Although I’ve given up coffee for lent, and no longer work in an office setting, I thought that “Coffee Talk” over at Money and Values had some great ideas.
“Brown Bagging It” at Money and Investing breaks down the monetary and health savings of bringing your own lunch rather than eating out.
Last but not least Chef Michele (whose excellent frugal cooking blog I read reguarly) reviews the basics of how to save money while grocery shopping.
Oh yeah, my own post on “What Does Frugal Look Like” is also included. Enjoy!

Thanks for the links! I’ve enjoyed reading the various articles and have learned several new things. That’s what keeps me young (at 50)–I try to learn something new every day!
For example, until I read the coffee article, I had never even heard of fair trade coffee!
Just when I think I can’t pinch another penny or make better choices, I see posts like this one. Thanks for reminding me that something more can always be done.
I learn a lot by reading other folks posts too-that’s one of the fun things about checking out other peoples blogs.
Plus, I find it helps to keep me focused-well the blogs and my several times a day jaunts into the FL Forum on About.com. . . .
