Tonight on Frugal Coast2Coast Lynnae and I will be talking with Kathryn Finney, author of “The Budget Fashionista” and blogger at the website of the same name.
I personally believe that you don’t have to spend a fortune to look good-and that looking good is important!
Now I know that sounds somewhat superficial-but hear me out. I’m not saying you have to look totally fantabulous at all times. But I do feel that when you take a few minutes for yourself and feel that you look good-it has a positive effect on your entire day.
So what do you think? Is looking good important? Can it be done on a budget? What areas of fashion do you find it the most difficult to save money on? Share!
And don’t forget, you can head on over to the Frugal Coast2Coast webpage to find the player (with the last 4 episodes) and get links / notes after the shows. You can also sign up for email show reminders-sign up once, get reminders each week!

I can’t wait to check out “The Budget Fashionista,” as I am part of that crowd!I like to dress well and express my style, on a shoestring budget, of course! I live in small ranch house surrounded by $500K plus homes. The Goodwill in our neighborhood is a treasure trove! Some of my favorite finds include a Tahari red sheath dress for about $6, a new with tags liz claiborne 3/4 sleeve knit shirt for $4.56, and never worn 3 color unisa shoes that garner compliments each time I wear them.
Ebay is also an amazing source. My favorite white blouse I bought for a penny. My preferred brand of jeans, $40 in the store, I can buy every day for $10, including shipping. The trick is to know your measurements and to ask the buyer for them if they are not already listed. I look for OBO listings; my bid has yet to be turned down!
