Well, better late than never. I’m sure those hardcore Festival of Frugality fans out there have already followed the link I posted earlier over to Pragmatic Finance and read the entire Festival. Those of you who haven’t yet, here are 5 of the 25 articles that caught my eye.
VicPick has information about a “student advantage” card. It appears to be sort of an “entertainment book” type thing for students. . . if you know someone in the right age range it might be worthwhile, if they would get discounts on things that they are already purchasing.
I was talking to my MOPS group on Wednesday about how much money cooking at home can save you-and wouldn’t you know it, there is an article on this weeks Festival about how to start cooking at home!
Nina has some tips for dealing with the overflow of plastic bags in our society and home!
Highest Echelon tells about his Virgin Mobile prepaid service. This really caught my eye because once our Nextel contract runs out in the spring, we are probably going to go to a prepaid cell. Now that we have the all in one cable/phone deal at home we don’t use the cell phone very much anymore. . . .
Getting to Enough talks about the the HGTV dreamhome that was given to a family for free, but cost too much for them to keep. This just reinforces my feeling that it is usually a poor choice to use the largest amount of money the bank will lend you when you buy a home. . .
