My kids are all grown now. Well, maybe you can’t call 11 and 13 grown, but they certainly aren’t babies anymore. But I remember how I felt as a new mother, especially with Princess, my first born. I felt so blessed that we had been given this beautiful healthy child, and I wanted to do everything I could to keep her safe and well.
So I can understand the concern mothers have about the products that they use on their babies. You’d hate to think that anything you were putting on your child’s skin might not be good for them. Johnson and Johnson understands as well. While they are convinced that their products always have been safe, they listened when moms told them that they were concerned about formaldehyde, 1,4 dioxane and parabens. So now Johnson and Johnson baby products have been reformulated to remove formaldehyde-releasing preservatives and reduced traces of 1,4-dioxane. For most of the new and improved baby products, they have also removed parabens ahead of their promised 2015 commitment.
I’m so impressed by a company doing this voluntarily. I think honoring a commitment and listening to those you care about are such honorable traits. I try to instill these things in my kids, and am glad to see a major household name like Johnson and Johnson do the same.
