Well the data is in! 45 readers took the time to weigh in on the matter with the following results:
The “Other” comments were that I should consider taking photos, that someone had a picky child who wouldn’t eat lunch from home, and that someone else thought it was sweet but basically skimmed by because it didn’t pertain to them.
Since the data shows that the people who took the time to vote either enjoy the lunchbox report, the dinner menu, or at the very least just ignore it and are not annoyed by it-I will be keeping this feature.
For the approximately 11% who voted and DO find it annoying I apologize. Since instituting the lunchbox report I have made sure that it was never my only post for the day (although sometimes there is a lag time between getting that post up and getting the next post up) and I consciously make an effort to post the lunchbox report FIRST so that when I post the more informative daily posts it will appear at the top of the page, bumping the the lunchbox report down a spot (so you don’t have to skim by it to get to the more “meaty” one).

I didn’t vote, but just this morning I was thinking how useful it is that you do that. Since I’m beyond that stage, I don’t usually read them, but for others I think it’s a great feature. Pictures are a good idea, but I well know what a pain that is!

Hi Jenn, Sorry I missed the poll. But I am glad you have decided to leave it in. Right now the lunch box reports are not relevant to me. So, most of the time, I just skip them. But the fact that you have this feature, is filed away in some recesses for my brain (and my bookmarks folder :)Sometime in the future, when I need them, I know I can get back to them. Just to add some perspective, I was raised in a different culture, but possibly my kids will be raised here. I doubt if they will enjoy taking Indian food in their lunch boxes, so this will be a good reference for me 🙂
