Giveaway: Rubbermaid Take A Longs & Sharpie Markers

December 4, 2010 By Jenn @ Frugal Upstate

Rubbermaid & Sharpie. . . ah, now those are two brands that I know are guaranteed to excite my readers!  I mean really-what’s not to love about either of them?

Rubbermaid & Sharpie have teamed up for a fun giveaway this holiday season.  The idea is simple-when you are giving home baked treats this holiday season, why not make the packaging part of the gift?

Just take your reasonably priced Rubbermaid Take A Longs (which are what I use for the kids sandwiches every day-they’ve stood up for over a year so far) and decorate them with Sharpie markers! Viola! You have a lovely package to fill with goodies, and the recipient can enjoy the container when you are done!

To try out this idea Rubbermaid & Sharpie sent me a great kit:

Decorated TakeAlongs 3
Rubbermaid. Sharpie. What’s not to love?

  • 15 Piece Set of Rubbermaid TakeAlongs
  • 8 Pack of multi-colored Retractable Sharpie Markers
  • 2 Pack of Sharpie Paint Markers (Silver & Gold)
  • 1 Refillable Sharpie Stainless Steel Marker
  • 3 Pack of Retractable Sharpie Pens

The kids and I got to work with our mad decorating skills. . .

Lots of artistic talent!
These are mine-snowflakes, stars & holly.

Pretty good for 9yrs old!
I like the silver & gold on the red.

Buddy’s “Santa Sleigh”
There’s a smiley inside!

I love Sharpies!!

If you try this project and are stuck for inspiration, visit the Rubbermaid Adventures in Organization blog, The Sharpie Blog and Sharpie Uncapped for creative ideas!
So what do you think?  Would you like to win a kit just like mine for your very own?

In my Sharpie decorated TakeAlong will be assorted small dollar store finds for little girls….one with makeup type items, one with little girl finds such as necklaces & art type materials (jewels, felt, etc). They could be used for traveling in the car kits, too.

My grandson & I make cut-out Christmas cookies every year and bring them to the family party at his uncle’s house. He’d be extra proud to bring our cookies to the party in these great containers. He is 6 years old & would love to decorate the containers with the markers. I can just see him marching up to his uncle’s house with these cheery containers in his arms and a big smile on his face!
