Here is another program from Walmart that I get the opportunity to introduce to you as one of the Walmart Moms: Home Free — a newly-added program that allows customers to get free shipping to home on apparel and consumable orders of $45 or more.
From their blurb:
“Tens of thousands of items are eligible, including beauty products, diapers, formula, clothing, household cleaning products, snacks, personal care, vitamins and more. Orders are shipped to customers’ homes within three to five business days after processing. More information is available at www.walmart.com/freeshipping.”
So what does this mean? In a word~cnvenience! I don’t know about you, but I have never really used any of those online drug stores or grocery stores because I figured by the time shipping was included I wasn’t getting any kind of deal. But with the home free program as long as I bundle together enough eligible items to hit the $45 threshold then I can just order from home and skip a trip to the store.
As part of the announcement, Walmart gave me a $45 gift card and asked me to try out the service myself.
At first I had kind of a hard time finding items that showed the “Home Free” option-I was just randomly checking items. But then I stopped, regrouped and asked myself “What things have you been wanting to buy that fit in the categories listed?”. Well, I have been wanting to make sure that all 3 of our cars have first aid kits in them. So I searched “First Aid Kit” and came up with several options, all of them eligible!
I decided to go with 3 of these :
They had the very basic first aid items but also a few Emergency Preparedness items-a whistle, a glow stick and a space blanket. I thought those were good additions.
I chose three of them, which brought my order up to just over $33. To bring it up to the $45 I went to apparel and bought one of those special tank tops that suck your gut in. Ok, enough said about that.
Once I had made all my purchases I went to check out. I was a bit nervous when I got to the shipping screen because it didn’t show any option for “Home Free”. I just chose the basic standard shipping and hoped for the best.
Low and behold, after entering my payment info and getting to the order summary the shipping was indeed free!
I finished my order and went about my business. About 4 days later. . .
A box! I love getting a box! I opened it up and there were my 3 First Aid kits.
Two days later another package arrived with the apparel part of my order. That’s it. Very easy to do. Again for more information check out the Walmart.com Home Free page.
What if the items you want to order aren’t eligible for Home Free? Well Walmart has additional free shipping programs. Nearly 95% of Walmart.com’s assortment are eligible for free shipping through one of their free shipping programs such as Site to Store, Pick Up Today, FedEx Site to Store and now, Home Free.

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post I am participating in with the Walmart Moms. Walmart has provided me with compensation for this post. My participation is voluntary and opinions, as always are my own.

I was wondering if the things I order, all different departments, would come bundled up in one box or separately?
Just like anything ordered online-it might come in one box or in several depending on where the order is fulfilled from.
